Babygirl: Hello Mizz Candi Baby, can you tell us a little about yourself and how you got started?

Candi: My name is Candi and I am twenty-four years old. I am originally from Columbus, Mississippi and I moved to Georgia in 2003. I have always been into music since I was a little girl but had never taken it seriously until about 3 months ago. I had been working with a group called Certified Grand here in Atlanta, when one night after a show, a girl pulled me aside and asked me “ was I working on my own album”. At that moment I felt great about pursuing my music career. So that’s how Mizz Candi Baby got started

Babygirl: Wow, I bet it felt great when that young lady noticed your talent and gave you confirmation as to how good you really are. That was great, so what would you say makes your music unique from any other female hip hop/R&B singer?

Candi: I’m just me, I have fun with what I do. I don’t try and sound like anyone that is already out there. They are already famous and living the dream. I am trying to get there, so I really take the time out and display feelings from the experiences I’ve had into my music.

Babygirl: That’s Wasup! So who in the music game do you most admire?

Candi: I admire Certified Grand for believing in me, and giving me a chance to work along side them while they were working on their mixtape. I also admire a lot of indie artist for there hustle/grind and never giving up on what they believe in.

Candi: GOD! I pray every night and I believe he will guide me in the direction where I need to be. It is so hard and stressful to make it in this business, but you just have to believe in yourself and have faith and let the man upstairs take care of the rest!!!

Babygirl: You have had a lot of plays on your myspace page for your single I’m Thru With You… Can you tell the audience what influenced you to write the song?

Candi: ( LOL)Wow yea that song…. I believe a lot of people can relate to being hurt and betrayed by someone they loved and who they thought loved them. I have been through the same thing and I just had to let it go and say “I’m Thru With You”

Babygirl: Yes, I’m sure we all have experienced past heartaches before. Do you have any upcoming events that you would like to inform the readers about?

Candi: I am actually working on a upcoming mixtape called “WELCOME TO CANDILAND” which should be done by the beginning of August. So be sure to get a copy. It’s sure to be one of the hottest mixtapes in Atlanta, and I’m also going on tour with Certified Grand in July. Our first stop is South Carolina, so I am really looking forward to that!

Babygirl: I can tell you are excited… Please be sure to keep us posted on future tour dates and upcoming events. Where do you see your career with in the next 5 years?

Candi: God’s will I will be fulfilling my dream as a “famous” R&B singer, and going on tour and living my life like it’s GOLDEN!!!

Babygirl: I like that… Living your life like its Golden, it can be done just keep chasing your dream, reach for the stars and one day you’ll become one….
